Add Warmth to Your Bathroom Before Winter Arrives

No one likes to freeze while they are using their bathroom during the winter months. If you are anything like us, you freeze as you are waiting for the water to go one so you can step into your shower, and then you freeze as soon as you step out of your shower. We recently made some changes to our bathrooms to add warmth to the space, so that we can prevent getting cold when we are in our bathrooms this next winter.

Heated Floors

Heated floors are at the top of our list, because they can be handy year-round. Not only will your feet stay warm at any hour of the day or night during the winter, but they will stay warm in the middle of the summer when you have the air conditioning blasting.

Heated Towel Drawer

You can use this drawer for more than towels and we recommend that you place your pajamas or lounge clothes inside this drawer as well before you step into the shower. This way, not only can you wrap yourself up in a nice warm towel, you can crawl into nice warm clothes too. That is the perfect ending to any day for us.

Choose Your Bathtub Wisely

If you love to linger in a soaking tub, we recommend that you choose one that is made from a material that will retain heat. Tubs made from soapstone, limestone, copper, and brass will retain heat longer and you won’t need to continuously add hot water to your tub as you are soaking.

Steam Shower

Steam showers are the new must-have bathroom items and we have been told that once a person uses one, they simply cannot live without it. We recommend adding a lounging area inside your shower if you do install one. This will allow you to relax comfortably while enjoying the steam and the warmth.

Most people have never considered installing a fireplace inside their bathroom, because of ventilation, but the newer gas models do not need to be vented like the old ones did. This makes them more versatile and easier to work with in an existing space. The fireplace can go next to your bathtub or you can create a little sitting area where you can relax and bask in the warmth at the end of a long day.

These five features will add a lot more warmth to your bathroom space this winter. We encourage you to begin this project sooner than later too, because you will not want to spend any part of your winter being cold. Instead, that first cold day can bring the same amount of happiness and joy as any other day of the year.
